Former child star Aaron Carter has opened up about his secret battle with mental health conditions.
The 31-year-old has revealed that he’s been officially diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and anxiety.
He makes the admission in a candid two-part interview on The Doctors, a US TV show that will air on Thursday and Friday.
During the interview, the I Want Candy singer is seen going through a large plastic bag full of the different prescription tablets he has to take to treat his various conditions.
He gives a list of what he’s been given by doctors, including Xanax, omeprazole, hydroxyzine and more.
Aaron then holds up the bag, saying: “This is my reality. Hi, I have nothing to hide.”
According to TMZ, Aaron also takes a drug test to prove he’s clean after confessing that he used opioids following a dental procedure.
He previously opened up his mental state to the publication.
He said: “On a scale of one to 10, what’s my mental stability? 100,000. Infinite!
“Because throughout my 20s I went through bankruptcy, I went through being broke four times, I went through losing my sister.
“I went through so many different mental … and now [I’m on the other side of that].”
Aaron was on The Doctors in 2017 when he got HIV test results , which came back clear.
It came after Aaron confessed he hasn’t always practised safe sex with his previous partners.
Visibly shaken, Aaron said of the test: “That was the scariest thing I have ever done in my life
“After not getting annual checkups and testing and being safe, actually, being safe so I could be safe for others, more importantly. That’s what scared me. I felt like I was putting people at risk with my body… I didn’t have the courage to go face the music.”
