BUNGLING Portuguese cops hunting for Maddie McCann showed residents in Praia da Luz an e-fit of a suspect which had no FACE, a new Netflix doc reveals.

The Netflix doc reveals that Portuguese police showed locals a featureless sketch of a potential suspect

The sensational new doc titled The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, which is available on Netflix on Friday, details the calamitous investigation by police in Portugal.

In the second episode, it is revealed that cops showed the featureless e-fit drawing to locals in a desperate hunt for clues in the first seven days of the case in May, 2007.

Simon Russell, who owned an internet café in the resort town, said: “I smiled when they showed it to me. What else could you do?”

In the first week of Maddie’s disappearance, police sources said detectives were hunting a Portuguese-speaking man who had dark hair and a side-parting.

Another suspect was a man with olive-skin who had a centre parting thought to be from Northern Europe, according to reports at the time.

And while no photofits were released to the media, locals in the resort town were shown the so-called “egg” face drawing.

The doc also highlights the alleged failing of police who were patrolling Portugal’s border with Spain.

News footage, filmed in the first week of the investigation, showed cops sheltering from the rain in their car as vehicles with blacked-out windows passed by them unchecked.
