Adverts have been placed in a bid to put together a team of 12 employees to look after the student, the daughter of an Indian billionaire.
Other roles – paying up to £30,000 annually – that are to be filled include gardener, chef and house manager as the doting tycoon looks set to assemble a staff worthy of Downton Abbey.
The family, described as being “ultra-high net worth”, believe the move will help their daughter feel more at home and will improve her studying.
Recruitment notices on a website run by the Silver Swan agency said the family had “purchased a large residence” in the Fife town.
It continued: “The family are very formal so are looking for experienced staff who have worked in similar environments. As this is a new residence, it is a great opportunity for an experienced butler who is looking for a challenge.
“You will be managing and assisting the house manager with the management of the footmen and you will help create structures to enjoy the smooth running of the property. The house will be a full-time residence for the family’s daughter, who will be attending university in St Andrews.
“The rest of the family (father, mother and brother) will be staying intermittently as well as other family members.”
Referring to the role of the “lady’s maid”, the advert continues that they “will be responsible for waking the principal up in the morning, liaising with other staff regarding routine and schedule, assisting with grooming and clothing, wardrobe management and personal shopping.”
A uni insider said: “Hopefully she will have a great time at uni and let her hair down a bit.”
