LeBron James will continue to watch the LA Lakers from the sidelines after being medically evaluated this week.

And the three-time NBA winner continues to be listed as ‘day-to-day’ as he recovers from the groin injury suffered in the Christmas Day loss to Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers faced Utah Jazz on Friday night without James.

It was the ninth match the 34-year-old has missed, with LA falling to a 113-95 loss, taking their record to 3-6 without him.

He is also likely to miss the meetings with Cleveland on Sunday and Chicago on Tuesday also after Lakers coach Luke Walton spoke about his continued rehab.

LeBron continues to be sidelined

“He’s getting re-evaluated again, I think, on the 16th,” Walton said. “So for me, I got a lot of other things that we’re trying to get done between now and then. We got a great medical staff. LeBron, as you know, he takes care of himself when it comes to seeing doctors and taking care of his body.

“So, as soon as he’s cleared and ready to go then we’ll get him back out there. But until then, we’ll continue to be patient with him.”

Team doctors examined James on Thursday and are set to give another update on Wednesday.

It’s hoped that he will be cleared to start “on-court functional basketball movements.”

Walton expanded: “He’ll start shooting. He knows what he’s doing. So him and his team will move forward as long as everything’s feeling good.”

But there remain fears that James could be out of commission for a while yet.
