ITV bosses were left scrambling to keep exes Lauren Goodger and Mark Wright apart when they both appeared at the London studios today.
Lauren, 32, joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the This Morning sofa while Mark was a guest on the Loose Women panel.
However there was chaos behind-the-scenes as crew members tried to prevent a run-in between the exes who split in 2012.
A TV source told Sun Online: “Loose Women and This Morning use the same backstage area and it’s not particularly big, so guest from various shows are always bumping into each other.
“Lauren and Mark were in at the same time and executives were told to try to make sure there was no chance of them bumping into each other.
“We didn’t lead Lauren through the canteen like we usually do and we kept her in her dressing room as much as we possibly could.
“It was a bit awkward, but sometimes we have to do this kind of thing to keep all the celebs happy.”
The formerly-engaged pair haven’t stayed in touch since calling it a day seven years ago.
The former Towie stars acrimoniously ended their eight-year relationship on the reality show back in 2012, with Mark later marrying actress Michelle Keegan.
And earlier this year Lauren admitted Mark blanked her when she saw him at the airport.
She explained: “I bumped into him the other day. I didn’t realise it was him. I saw his body and thought: ‘I know that body.’
“But it was a lot smaller. I looked and smiled and Michelle was there as well, but it isn’t like that.
“I’d happily say hello but he sort of went [looks the other direction]. It was fine. It was like they didn’t even know me.”
When asked if they could ever get to the point where they can say hello, she explained: “I would, I don’t think they would.
“I haven’t got a problem – it’s history. We were engaged and that’s it.”
Lauren has since had romances with Jake McLean and Joey Morrisson
former Towie co-star Sam Faiers this week hinted that Lauren could come face to face with their ex Mark Wright in a ten-year anniversary special.
