Piers Morgan has dropped a hint that he’s leaving Good Morning Britain at the end of his contract in December.

The presenter, 54, may leave the panel on New Year’s Eve where he sits alongside Susanna Reid, Kate Garraway, Charlotte Hawkins and Ben Shephard.

Piers, who last week declared that he identified as a penguin has said he will debate his future on the hit breakfast show.

A recent online petition has called for the tv host to be fired following his identification as a penguin.

The dad-of-four announced to his Twitter followers that his current ITV contract ends on the final day of 2019.

Questioning the online petition, one ballsy fan tweeted former Britain’s Got Talent judge and asked whether ITV bosses would honour the rest of his salary should he be fired, which the 54-year-old replied: “Yes, but my contract runs out on Dec 31 anyway..”

The loudmouth then went on to say today’s show will be focusing on his early morning future.

He tweeted: “UPDATE: on tomorrow’s GMB, we will be debating whether I should be fired.”

One viewer tweeted: “Is he leaving GMB? Great I can start watching again.”

However, others claimed that the Life Stories host is the sole reason they tune in to the programme.

Piers has hinted he’s set to leave GMB

A viewer tweeted Piers: “Sadly I go to work early and I will miss your debate on GMB about you staying or leaving.

“I just want you to know you are the only reason I watch. You fight for what is right and people are too scared to do the same.”

A second doting fan claimed: “Without you there’s no GMB.”

A petition has been launched to have the 54-year-old axed

Piers made his announcement as a penguin after a BBC film stated that there are 100 genders.

Never one to shy away from being outspoken, the journalist tweeted: “You can’t remove me, I’m currently identifying as a penguin so it would be animal cruelty.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
