A jealous wife is allegedly trying to ‘destroy’ her police officer husband by pursuing a case against him for cheating on her with prostitutes, according to the officer’s lawyer.
US policeman Benjamin Toth, 32, from Kunkletown, Pennsylvania, allegedly paid prostitutes for sex after contacting them through fake social media profiles, reports say.
Toth, 32, who reportedly received therapy for sex addiction in 2016, denies one count of soliciting prostitutes, it is claimed.
In 2016, his wife Adrienne Toth, 48, told police that her husband was seeing sex workers he had found on Facebook and Craigslist.
Adrienne reportedly gave officers an iPhone 4 and other devices that were used by Toth in order to help them with their investigation.
Detectives found Toth’s phone number and email address linked to more than 20 suspect posts on Craigslist, according to the New York Post .
The policeman pleaded not guilty to soliciting prostitutes on Thursday.
Toth’s attorney, Joseph Nahas, told WBRE: “My client will never plead guilty to this matter because he didn’t do anything to be guilty of.
“You have an ex-wife who’s upset she’s an ex-wife. And now what’s she trying to do? Destroy her husband.”
The veteran cop has been put on restricted duty at work, limiting his encounters with the public.
Times News Lehighton reports that he received therapy for sex therapy in 2016 for sex with prostitutes, searching the web for prostitutes and anonymous sex, creating secret online profiles, using resources at work inappropriately, masturbation, porn, lying, cybersex, sending and receiving explicit pictures, eroticised rage and more.
