Heavy rain leading to localised flooding is expected in the Cape Winelands and Overberg districts.

Severe thunderstorms are expected over the extreme western parts of the Western Cape, the south eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the western parts of the Free State as well as the Eastern Cape.

Weather forecast and UV index for all provinces

Gauteng: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.

UVB sunburn index: Very high.

Mpumalanga: Cloudy with morning fog patches along the escarpment where it will be cool, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the Lowveld.

Limpopo: Cloudy in the east with morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm but hot in the Limpopo Valley and south-western Bushveld with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south-east.

North-West Province: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the extreme west and northeast.

Free State: Cloudy at times and cool in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

Northern Cape: Cloudy with morning fog patches along the coast where it will be cool, becoming partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly.

Western Cape: Cloudy and cool with morning fog patches along the west coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered along the south coast into the adjacent interior where localised flooding is possible over the Overberg district. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south easterly.

UVB index: Very high.

Western half of the Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north easterly becoming moderate south westerly in the afternoon.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be strong north easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

UVB index: Very high.
